Introduction Appointment
Prior to any grooming services, all dog must book an introduction appointment (regardless of age and grooming experience). This is to allow your dog to explore and get to know me and the environment, without the pressure of being groomed. Even the most calm and confident dog can feel nervous if changing groomers, and an introduction can really help them feel at ease and set them up for success on their first grooming visit. For anxious dogs and those with a bite history, an initial non-grooming appointment is essential to begin building trust and learning about your dog and how they communicate.

Supported Grooming
Stress-Less Grooming is best known for its bespoke Supported Grooming service, designed to help anxious dogs feel more comfortable with professional grooming. I work closely with owners to adapt the grooming process to each dog’s individual needs, building trust and tolerance at a pace they can handle. This often means starting with short, frequent sessions, and a full groom may not be achievable in one visit. However, the focus is always on long-term progress, maintaining your dog's trust, and creating positive behaviour change for a more relaxed grooming experience over time.
Where beneficial, you are invited to stay throughout your dog's visit to provide them with support. With a focus on their unique needs, dogs can make significant progress, creating a more positive and stress-free grooming experience. Together, we’ll find practical solutions and adaptations to develop a coat care routine that works for both you and your dog.

Supported Grooming Packages:
Packages are an ideal way to begin Supported Grooming with your dog. Many dogs really benefit from more frequent visits initially, in order to begin trust building and positive experiences without overwhelming them with a full groom initially. The Supported Grooming package includes 6 face to face sessions, plus access to online support. For ongoing customers, packages are a great way lock in your current price, beat any prices increases during that time to save a little money. Advance booking through packages also ensures you get the appointment slots you prefer.

Sensory Sessions
For dogs who find grooming overwhelming, Sensory Sessions provide a safe and stress-free introduction to the grooming environment—without the pressure of a full grooming appointment. These sessions are designed for the most anxious dogs who are not yet ready for grooming, helping them build confidence, trust, and positive associations at their own pace. During a Sensory Session, your dog can explore the grooming space in a calm, controlled way, with no expectation of being groomed. They’ll have the opportunity to engage with food activities and toys, as well as grooming tools, scents, and sounds in a gentle and supportive environment, ensuring every interaction is positive. During sensory sessions we can also begin introducing cooperative care techniques and cover any support you need with home grooming. Sensory sessions do not include any cutting of hair, but if appropriate we can use the session to give your dog a positive experience of the sound and sensation of clipping and trimming.
Lasting up to 40 minutes, this is a bespoke service tailored to each dog’s unique needs, allowing them to become more comfortable with the process of grooming over time. Whether your dog has had previous negative experiences or simply needs extra support, Sensory Sessions are an ideal for very anxious dogs starting on their journey to stress-free grooming.

Home Visits
For dogs and owners who are not able to travel to Kilsyth, I offer home visits (currently Cumbernauld and Kirkintilloch, other areas may be available on request) so you can access any of my Supported Grooming service or Sensory Sessions without the added stress of travelling. Please reach out to book a free telephone consultation to discuss your needs and pricing.
Please note: I do not offer bathing or drying as a home visit.
Groom Your Own Dog Package
Have you got a dog you'd like to groom yourself? Perhaps you've tried and it hasn't gone well; but with the right guidance on techniques and tools, it's perfectly reasonable to learn how to make a good job of your own dog. Whether you want to bond more with your dog through grooming, or simply to save some money long term through clipping and trimming at home yourself, my Groom Your Own Dog package can help you. I will work with you one to one with your own dog, covering coat care, bathing/drying, hygiene, nail and ear care, clipping and trimming, cooperative care and equipment. We'll chat about what your goals are for your dog's coat care and set a plan to cover everything you'll need to learn to achieve it.
It is impossible to cover everything you need to know in one lesson, so this is only available as a package including 5 one to one lessons, a brush, comb and one pair of scissors, plus online support.
